ISIAME2016 Announcement
International Symposium on the Industrial Applications of the Mössbauer Effect (ISIAME 2016);4 - 8 September 2016;Potchefstroom,South Africa

RE ISIAME CONFERENCE TO BE HELD IN SOUTH AFRICA IN SEPTEMBER 2016

ISIAME (International Symposium on the Industrial Applications of the Mössbauer Effect) has been held every 4 years since the early 1980’s and is arguably the only Mössbauer symposium dealing with industrial applications of the Mössbauer Effect. In the 1990’s it was agreed to host the symposium in South Africa under chairmanship of the late Prof Herman Pollak of WITS. I then acted as co-chair of this most successful symposium, which was held in 1996 and at the 2012 ISIAME it was again decided that South Africa should host the symposium, as the 1996 South African symposium was the most successful from those held in Honolulu, USA (1984); Parma, Italy (1988); Seta, Japan (1992); Johannesburg, South Africa (1996); Virginia Beach, USA (2000); Madrid, Spain (2004), Budapest, Hungary (2008) and Dalian, China (2012).

Due to the speciality of this symposium the amount of attendees is seldom more than 200 people with an excellent ratio between universities fundamental studies, research and practical industry feedback, which will make the Lagoon beach Hotel in Cape Town the ideal venue to host this symposium from 4-8 September 2016.

A broad range of topics are covered during the symposium, but will be adopted to meet the needs of academia and industry alike and popular topics under consideration will include those shown in the 1st flyer.

The South African organizing committee has been established and represents industry and academic institutions. This committee commits to a conference that will be beneficial to the country and should enhance and build Mössbauer competency within southern Africa.

Given the importance of the event to both universities and industry, you are hereby requested to consider participating as a Sponsor to the conference. In exchange for the sponsorship all your contributors will be recognized in promotions and during the symposium, including all conference associated correspondence.

Early contributions (from September 2015) will be welcomed and will be utilized to cover for venue deposits. The benefit to an early contribution is that your company/institution will be mentioned in all communication from 2015 and during the 2016 conference. Major sponsors (above R50 000) will receive special mention and treatment and their logo will be prominently displayed on all conference material. Although the conference is not aimed at making a profit, it has been agreed that in such a case any profits will be shared between the hosting institutions and make these profits available for training of students in Mössbauer related disciplines.
Platinum sponsorship will be for amounts more than R50 000
Gold sponsorship will be between R40 000 and R50 000
Silver sponsorship will be between R30 000 and R40 000
Bronze will be below R30 000

Your favourable consideration to this request will greatly enhance our ability to host a successful South Africa symposium. Any enquiries can be directed to Frans Waanders at the info below.
